reports of a new virus surfaced during the last week of september. one source claimed it was a north korean biological warfare experiment gone wrong while another insisted it was russian and a third hinted that it was actually american in origin. it didn't matter. in the end, the virus had spread too far too fast for anyone to know for sure. every government was alarmed enough to take immediate action, but still, they were too late. the outbreak was contained for little more than a week before hospitals were overrun, cities and small towns following close behind. a few hours later, the usa delcares a state of emergency.

as the virus continues to ravage the country, the usa is faced with total devastation. despite every effort, what is left of the government falls within the first week of october, leaving those left alive to fend for themselves. less than a week after that, the usa is completely without power, rendering all advanced forms of communication useless.

• october 5 - 100% of the usa loses power; cell phone towers and public radio brodcast systems die

the world is quiet and the undead roam throughout cities and countrysides alike. our group is among those left alive, its numbers continuously growing as more and more survivors are found. their camp is safe enough for now, but soon they will need to make their next move and find larger, more secure commune to call home. |
